Shundra Cannon, M.Ed. – Mrs. Cannon is a visionary education and business professional who has worked in a variety of educational settings, including K-12, charter schools, educational leadership, Leadership Coach, and school start up and reform.  Her commitment and care to supporting, coaching and developing teachers and leaders makes her an effective consultant and leader.  She has an extraordinary education and management background with a record of leadership success. She is a passionate educator who is committed to conceptualizing, executing and communicating vision, training and development of others, and always focusing on achievement of determined goals. She has a proven track record of success of working with students, teachers and school leaders.

 

Mrs. Cannon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Hampton University and a Masters of School Administration and Mid-Management from the University of Houston.  She has served in education for the past nineteen years, from teaching students to mentoring and providing professional development for teachers and school leaders, and as a school administrator.  She has received several professional awards and accomplishments including Teacher of the Year and the ACP Teacher of the year for the state of Texas.  She has served on many professional committees and boards in developing and implementing school reform and development. Mrs. Cannon has made education her lifelong work and strives to ensure student success.

Lea Rutherford, B.S - Lea Rutherford, is an established educator and graduate of Spelman College, Atlanta, Georgia, with an array of educational training and expertise in providing professional development, consulting and coaching support in the areas of Science, Reading, Writing, ESL, Math and business development.  Ms. Rutherford has 13 years of experience in the classroom, served as a science specialist for 20 + schools, and provides professional development training for teachers, grades K-12.  She now partners with individuals, corporations, school districts, schools, superintendents, principals, teachers, parents, students, and educational agencies in providing consultant and tutorial services to staff and students.  Ms. Rutherford has serviced six school districts and over 25 schools, thousands of students, teachers and has partnered with several independent entities such as The Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund and StemScopes with Rice University to provide prescribed and contracted services.

 

I am committed to this work and will further my personal and professional development and growth while continuing to educate myself as a life-long learner and position myself in this industry as a conduit for and agent of change. 

 

OUR TEAM

Our EMCEG team works collaboratively with our schools to ensure the best results for their campus to meet and exceed state standards. Consultants are equipped to work with teachers and students to remediate and accelerate academic skills for general education and special education students.  We have a cadre of consultants with expertise and certifications in all content areas of grades K-12 and specialty skills (Reading, Math, Social Studies, Writing, Science, Special Education, and English as a Second Language). The EMCEG team is also experienced educators who have provided leadership coaching and professional development to numerous school leaders and teachers. Team members are capable of providing instructional programs that are customized for different classrooms, schools, and districts.
